VocabPlus Privacy Policy

1. Scope and operator

This Privacy Policy applies to the VocabPlus Android application and any official VocabPlus web or progressive web application made available by Veritus Software. VocabPlus is operated by Veritus Software.

VocabPlus is a vocabulary-learning application. Its core learning features are designed to work without creating an account and without connecting to a Veritus Software server.

2. Information stored locally on your device

To remember your learning activity and preferences, VocabPlus stores the following information locally on your device or, for the web version, in your browser:

• words you have seen and your answer counts;
• review timestamps and calculated mastery status;
• bookmarked or saved words;
• your active learning set and resume position;
• settings such as light or dark mode and Urdu Help preference; and
• a local recovery copy if stored progress is detected as damaged.

This information is used only to provide study progress, session continuity, review features, bookmarks, and your selected settings. It is not automatically uploaded or transmitted to Veritus Software.

3. Pronunciation feature

When you tap the pronunciation button, VocabPlus asks the text-to-speech engine installed on your device to pronounce the selected word. VocabPlus does not send that word to a Veritus Software server and does not receive a recording or a copy of the spoken audio.

Your device's text-to-speech engine may be supplied by the device manufacturer or another provider. Some voices may use network-based processing depending on your device, installed voice, and system settings. Those services are controlled by their providers and are subject to their own privacy terms.

4. Feedback and support

The Send feedback feature opens an email application installed on your device. VocabPlus prepares a message addressed to google.play.vs.001@veritussoftware.com. Depending on the category you choose, the message may include a template for general feedback, a word suggestion, or a problem report.

The prepared message includes only:

• the feedback text or other information you choose to enter;
• the VocabPlus application version;
• the application build number; and
• the platform name, such as Android or web.

You can review, edit, remove, or cancel the message before sending it. Nothing is sent automatically, and VocabPlus does not store your feedback draft.

If you send the email, Veritus Software will receive your email address, message, and any other information you voluntarily include. We use that information to reply to you, investigate reported problems, evaluate suggestions, improve VocabPlus, and maintain reasonable support records. We do not use support messages for advertising or add you to a marketing list without separate permission.

5. External applications and services

VocabPlus can open external applications or websites when you choose certain actions. Examples include your email application for feedback, Google Play for ratings and reviews, and a browser for this Privacy Policy.

Once you leave VocabPlus, the external application or service processes information under its own terms and privacy policy. Veritus Software does not control the privacy practices of your email provider, text-to-speech provider, Google Play, your browser, or other external services.

6. Information VocabPlus does not automatically collect

VocabPlus does not require or automatically collect:

• an account, username, or password;
• your name, phone number, address, or contact list;
• precise or approximate location;
• advertising identifiers or data for targeted advertising;
• photos, videos, files, camera, or microphone content;
• payment or financial information;
• health information;
• study analytics or behavioral telemetry sent to Veritus Software; or
• crash reports sent to Veritus Software through an analytics or crash-reporting SDK.

VocabPlus contains no advertising SDK and no Veritus Software analytics service.

7. How information is used and shared

Local study information remains on your device and is used by VocabPlus to provide the features described in this policy. Veritus Software does not sell or rent your personal information.

Information you voluntarily send by email may be processed by your email provider and ours to deliver and store the message. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, enforce our rights, protect users or the public, or respond to a valid legal request.

8. Data retention and deletion

Local application data

Local study data remains on your device until you reset it, clear the application's storage, clear the browser's site data, or uninstall VocabPlus. The in-app reset option clears study progress and the active learning set. To remove all locally stored VocabPlus data, including preferences, clear the app's storage in your device settings or uninstall the app. For the web version, clear VocabPlus site data in your browser.

Feedback and support emails

We normally retain feedback and support correspondence for no longer than 24 months after the last related communication. We may retain it longer where reasonably necessary for an unresolved issue, security and abuse prevention, legal obligations, or a legal dispute. We may retain non-personal, anonymized information about a bug or product suggestion after deleting identifying details.

You may request deletion of feedback or support correspondence by emailing google.play.vs.001@veritussoftware.com. Include enough information for us to locate the correspondence. We will respond within a reasonable period, subject to legal obligations that may require limited retention.

VocabPlus does not create user accounts, so there is no VocabPlus account to delete.

9. Security

VocabPlus minimizes privacy risk by keeping core study information local and by not operating an account or analytics backend. Access to locally stored data is subject to the security of your device, operating system, browser, and screen lock.

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures for information we receive, but no storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

10. Children's privacy

VocabPlus is an educational vocabulary application and is not specifically directed to children under 13. The app does not require an account and does not automatically transmit study activity to Veritus Software.

If a child sends personal information through a feedback email, a parent or guardian may contact us to request deletion using the address below.

11. This Privacy Policy website

This page is a static website. Veritus Software does not place advertising, analytics, tracking scripts, or submission forms on this page. We do not intentionally set tracking cookies through this page.

The hosting provider may process standard technical request information, such as IP address, browser type, and request time, to deliver and secure the site under its own terms and privacy policy. We do not use this page to profile visitors or serve personalized advertising.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when VocabPlus features, legal requirements, or data practices change. The revised policy will be posted at the same public URL with an updated “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated through the application or its store listing when appropriate.
